About the Show
Domestic Goddess, Nigella Lawson, makes no secret of the fact that she loves eating and entertaining. Nigella Bites invites us into her kitchen to learn how easy and effective a good meal can be.
Whether you are cooking a stolen treat for one or a feast for an entire tribe of friends and family. With step by step guides, from the exhausted mother’s teatime special (a jar of tomato sauce, some basmati rice and parmesan to grate over) to a favourite pudding of rhubarb and muscat wine jelly, each recipe is accompanied by practical tips and fuss-free principles.
“I am not a chef. My qualification is as an eater... I wanted to make my slavering passion for food the starting point. I have nothing to declare but my greed”. - Nigella Lawson
Sat Mar 13 04:30 - 05:00 PM
This week Nigella celebrates the all-day breakfast: American Pancakes, Welsh rarebit muffins, Asian-spiced kedgeree, Masala Omelette and Apple and Blackberry Kuchen.
Sat Mar 20 04:30 - 05:00 PM
This week Nigella celebrates trashy food. Enjoying food and enjoying eating isn't about graduating with honours from the Good Taste University. In this programme, Nigella says goodbye to the food snobs and purists and creates a space for a bit of kitsch in the kitchen...such as Elvis Presley's fried peanut butter and banana sandwich, Ham baked in coke and Chocolate Lime Cheesecake.
Sat Mar 27 04:30 - 05:00 PM
This week, Nigella focuses on the kind of healthy food we all need to eat when we wish to purge ourselves of life's impurities. Some of her restorative creations include: prairie oyster, peaches and blueberries, salmon with greens and shitake mushrooms, gingery hot duck salad, Vietnamese chicken and mint salad, and for dessert, papaya with raspberries and lime.
Sat Apr 3 04:30 - 05:00 PM
This week Nigella Lawson takes a trip down memory lane recreating the tastes and flavours of her childhood. There are times when we all feel nostalgic for the delicious dishes we ate as children. Using recipe books belonging to her mother and grandmothers, Nigella considers the idea that food is a legacy which is handed down the generations of a family. Today's dishes include Italian sausages and lentils, bread and butter pudding and a retro revival of Liptaur.
